Allegan Event Plans Outdoor Expansion
We are excited to announce plans to move the Zip Line experience from Allegan’s Riverfront Park and expand the outdoor attractions at the Allegan Event Center, located at 439 River Street in Allegan.
When Allegan Event and the City of Allegan partnered to install the zip line operation in 2017, it was the start of a great partnership that helped jumpstart a lot of activity in Downtown Allegan. Seeing customers from all over Michigan and beyond come to Allegan to experience a fun attraction is what kept the ball rolling to open the Allegan Event indoor facility.
Allegan Event is Michigan’s largest indoor ropes course. In 2019 an arcade, food and beverage, and party areas were added. In the 2022 summer season, we opened the new Amaze’n Maze attraction. The response has been great and is another fun activity for the whole family.
As thousands of guests enjoy the Zip Line, we’ve decided to expand this outdoor attraction as well. To do this, more real estate than the Riverfront Park can offer is needed. The relocated zip line will have a new look and be expanded with even more Zip experiences.
“Although we will miss the downtown vibe, the outdoor expansion plan at Allegan Event will allow us to have a unique indoor and outdoor family adventure experience that we can’t wait to share with everyone,” explained Michelle Liggett, Allegan Event owner.
City Manager Joel Dye said, “In 2017, the city began partnering with Allegan Event to create a hub of activity in Allegan. We are thrilled by this global company that champions Allegan as its home and look forward to continuing to work with them in making Allegan a destination city.”
The relocation of the zip line towers will allow the city the opportunity to continue to enhance the Riverfront Park area, an effort that city leadership will enthusiastically engage the public on.
